Ideal candidates will have c2years PQE but Spring 2024 qualifiers will be considered, though at this time the firm is not wanting to engage with September 2024 qualifiers.
Suitable candidates will have at least 6 months Corporate experience gained as a Trainee, and more than that perhaps from paralegal work or a double seat would be a bonus. PQE in Corporate would be absolutely ideal but it's a competitive market hence the openness to a Newly Qualifed in the absence of someone with that bit more experience.
On past history this firm is perfectly able to recruit from large law firms, when the candidate perhaps doesn't subscribe to those expectations and ways of working and would like to be part of a smaller department here they'll be appreciated. Equally they can recruit from regional firms where a candidate wants a step up to a better regarded commercial brand with a stronger set of clients and strength in depth across the business. It's a popular brand with a significant percentage of its partners having big firm backgrounds so anyone joining can be assured of the supervision and ongoing training.
What is always important is personality. Clients are a mixture of large regional businesses and also SME/OMBs and they want a lawyer who they can talk with. Communication skills are essential, and you'll be building relationships from the outset with clients and intermediaries at your level.
You'll work closely with more senior colleagues, involved in bigger M&A deals, and entrusted with tasks at your level to help you to learn quickly and build your confidence. The firm will hope to develop you into a well rounded corporate lawyer with strong skills set, so that's the offering short to medium term.
