Relatively junior Commercial Disputes specialist for high quality mid-market team, Leeds based, Legal 500 rated.

New role to work in support of a number of partners and more senior colleagues on a mixed caseload of commercial disputes including shareholder disputes, professional negligence and contract disputes for a nationally dispersed client base of independent businesses. Fringe knowledge of contentious property or insolvency might be useful though they'd typically be handled by other practitioners in the firm.

You'll have strong academics, and a a base level of competency to progress matters at your level (from instruction to conclusion), including client contact, and in addition to be deployed on larger more complex cases with guidance from the lead partners.

If you want a good level of responsibility, to be able to think strategically and to be a problem solver for clients then this role should appeal to you as you'll be getting great all round exposure from the start and learning from highly rated colleagues.

As a mid-market firm they've reasonable expectations and a greater likelihood of a work-life balance when compared to the bigger international brands, though remuneration is more modest to reflect their lower gearing.

A great step for someone disillusioned with life in 'big law' or possibly someone stepping up from a regional brand who wants a better recognized commercial firm brand.

Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
