EMPLOYMENT NQ-3yrsPQE LEEDS

My client is a well liked Leeds firm which offers a full array of services to commercial and private clients across the North and nationally. They're a firm with personality, where client relationships are very much focused on and where client contact and involvement in marketing efforts is encouraged for lawyers at all levels.

They've a busy Employment team which now needs to recruit, and a suitable candidate will need to be able to handle matters at an appropriate level on arrival. For a 2024 NQ that realistically means you'll probably need to have done two seats or some paralegal work in Employment work. Yes the firm can help someone to up-skill and train further, but this is a role where there's a pace of delivery expected and the more someone can handle the better. Most likely someone 1-3yrsPQE is going to better aligned to the role on day one as such a candidate will already have that experience of managing their own files and client expectations, prioritising and being organised.

The work itself will be primarily for employers but occasionally employees. It will be a mix of contentious (including ETs) and non-contentious work, and so represents a really good grounding for an Employment lawyer before perhaps considering specializing further in a few years time. It's a firm which wants to be an enjoyable place to work, and which has a really pragmatic approach and leadership, so someone who wants to get stuck in and involved in the department should thrive.

Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
