Leading Leeds firm is looking for a further two Associates for their Commercial Disputes department, Leeds based though with hybrid attendance.
Suitable candidates will have upwards of 12 months PQE in mixed Commercial Disputes work, preferably gained in a recognised commercial firm be that a regional, national or international brand. This firm is regularly in the headlines so has good profile and a lot of momentum in the market.
You'll be arriving to a department with real strength and depth at partner and legal director levels, so they've impressive capability and a substantial number of the partners have big firm backgrounds. You'll work closely with more experienced lawyers on complex litigation work, acting for a broad range of clients be they substantial independent businesses, household names or HNW individuals, typically UK based but occasionally with international interests.
Work will include but is not limited to partnership and shareholder disputes, applications for injunctions, litigation around breach of covenants or contracts, breach of director duties, fraud investigations, IT and outsourcing disputes, and high value disputes over supply of good and services. It's a great mix of expertise across this department and one which will really develop the technical capability of a Solicitor at this stage of their career.
Everyone in the firm has client content, and everyone will be expected to get involved in developing client relationships either on an individual basis or as part of the firms broader efforts which are many and varied. Communication skills and having a degree of social confidence will be useful, though the firm also has a range of initiatives to support and develop its staff so these skills can be nurtured with time as your career evolves.
A great opportunity for a Commercial Dispute Resolution lawyer who wants to get really involved and take on more responsibility than they would in a large international firm, but knowing that the skills they're learning will hold up well at the highest levels of the market.
Two roles to fill in the same department.
Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
