My client is a well respected law firm with a fascinating array of clients spread across the UK, including private individuals, companies, institutions, estates and agricultural clients, charities and faith organisations. Consequently, the range of property work this team handles is unique, allowing a lawyer to enjoy a mix of work which few other firms could match. The other quirk is the value of the work you are actually doing as often it is not about profit or gain in the way that it is when acting solely for large corporate clients.
Mainstream commercial property experience is the most likely background of a successful candidate and is perfectly applicable as there will be an element of that, and the core skills will transpose to more niche sectors as you'd expect. You'll have client contact early on and be encouraged to run with your own matters at an appropriate level with support as required. On arrival you'd be working with colleagues in a number of the areas above, but over time you'd be able to specialise in those which interest you the most.
Ideal candidates will be perhaps 3-5yrsPQE, but the firm is open minded to look at experience objectively. You'll be wanting to join a progressive firm which is very much supporting flexible working, and empowering lawyers to work in ways which are sustainable for them, without excessive targets or micro-management. You'll be joining somewhere very supportive and which has a truly collegiate culture delivered from the top down.
An unusual opportunity but one which should be highly attractive as a result.
Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
