Commercial Disputes lateral hire for a well established commercial law firm based in Yorkshire, this role to be located in Leeds though with hybrid office attendance.

A preferred candidate will already be established at Partner level, and coming from a broad commercial litigation background so as to be comfortable with a range of contentious work (not including property, construction or insolvency) from initial instruction to trial. The firm acts for regional and national clients across a range of sectors, so good client skills are a pre-requisite. The firm will be hoping for someone with a track record of building connections and finding work, though they fully appreciate that a 'following' is hard to guarantee in disputes work. This award winning team has hired from larger brands before so a Top 50 brand background definitely fits here if someone is looking for a more visible role in a mid-market firm.

Beyond fee earning you'll be someone who enjoys leading others, and who has a natural manner when it comes to supervising and advising your less experienced colleagues. You'll be the sort of manager who makes themselves available and is understanding of the needs of others. Whilst this is not a designated 'head of department' post there are aspects of this opportunity that require a managers mindset and deportment day to day and those behaviours will elevate you within this department and the broader firm.

An interesting and fulfilling role for a commercial litigator with a team-minded approach. Remuneration above the stated guidelines by negotiation.

Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
